Antoine, before he handed over the work in the winery to his sons, was a pioneer of the natural wine movement, simply because he never introduced pesticides to his vineyards, or cultured yeast to his ferments. This red made from a grape closely related to sangiovese is brilliantly lively, full of dark black fruit, but lots of earth accents, citrus peels, and dried spices, all in an elegantly buoyant
